To Construction Colleagues and Interested Citizens:

The APA Plant Certification Program was developed 18 years ago to provide Architects with the added assurance that their chosen architectural precast, architectural cast stone, and GFRC manufacturing facility had in place an independently monitored quality control system. Plant Certification is mandatory for APA Producer Members with an inspection frequency of two unannounced inspections per year.

Since the program’s inception, architects, engineers, and government agencies nationwide have accepted it as an equivalent to PCI certification. I know of no case in which it has not been well received. I am also proud to report that, in addition to the hundreds of other specifications which mandate APA Plant Certification, the American Institute of Architects’ Master Spec, Spec Link®, and 4Specs contain APA Certification and the program has been included in the Unified Facilities Guide Specification which is used by our Armed Forces and NASA.

Please click on the link provided on this page to view the contents of our inspection manual. The actual inspector review form is available on request. A brochure which fully describes the program is also offered on this page.

Thank you for considering APA Plant Certification. I am sure you will be most pleased, as have a host of others, with the results achieved by allowing those qualified by the APA Plant Certification Program to bid your work.

Kindest regards,

Fred L. McGee
Executive Director
